On behalf of Southampton University Japanese Society, I am writing to express our sincere condolence to those affected by the disastrous earthquakes in Kumamoto, Japan. Our sympathy also goes out to people affected by the powerful earthquakes in Northern Ecuador. Aftershocks are still worrying – we really hope your family, relatives, friends and colleagues are all safe. Do get in touch with us if there is anything we can be of help. The latest information on emergency relief efforts by the British Red Cross can be found at:http://www.redcross.org.uk/About-us/News/2016/April/Powerful-earthquake-hits-Ecuadorhttp://www.jrc.or.jp/english/relief/160417_004218.html
In response to the earthquake, we are going to hold a fundraising event on 29th April at SUSU Red brick area from 10am to 5pm.
We will collect the relief fund for the recent great earthquakes that struck South-west Japan (Kyushu-region) on 14th April. The victims are still suffering from the aftershocks – they need resources to survive and get back to normal. The fund collected will be sent to Japan Red Cross Society. We hope that many of you could visit our stand and help us a little bit to support the people in the affected areas. Please come along and bring your friends
