This successful outcome was made possible by the volunteers and those who made donations. In addition, we particularly like to acknowledge generous supports from the following:

  • Maki Saji for visiting Southampton Univ. and performing Kamishibai show
  • SUSU RAG (Raise And Give) for an immediate approval of running fundraising events at the university
  • Univ. Catering manager for allowing us to set up stalls at the Staff Social Centre
  • Univ. International Office for spreading the emergency appeal to other societies and students
  • Univ. Media Relations Officer for assisting the press release
  • Daily Echo (Local newspaper) for capturing our fundraising efforts and promotions
  • AIESEC Southampton for inviting us to participate in the Global Village festival to promote the fundraising
  • Univ. Print Centre for donating good quality poster papers for making a giant paper crane
  • Piazza (Student canteen) for placing collection boxes at the cashers
  • UNISON (Univ branch) for the generous donations
  • International Women’s Club for collecting funds at their meetings
  • Southampton Tai Chi for the generous donations
  • Southampton Decorative & Fine Arts Society for allowing us to collect funds at their Japanese art lecture

Another positive effect of this fundraising appeal was bringing local people together with greater strengths and communications. Well done to all involved.
